A Hamster’s Genotype May Affect Its Coat Color and Pattern
Hamster X is a web-based social networking and adult entertainment website based in the Cypriot town of Limassol. xHamster features a large collection of adult-oriented photos, video clips, and personal profiles, and also includes chat and forum features. xHamster was launched in 2020 by a group of developers that formed the Limassol Limited, which is owned by a number of different investors. The website is promoted as an online "cafe" for those that wish to view and/or upload adult videos and photographs; however, many users visit the site for the purposes of "spanking" or "flirting."
The website was created in collaboration with a number of amateur artists from all over the world who designed and drew the original artwork featuring the Hamster, including an assortment of different colors and a variety of different facial expressions. Many of these artists used a technique known as "x-linked painting," which involved using a series of photos to create a design. In addition to the unique design, the images themselves had a different color variation between them. For example, one drawing of the Hamster contained a yellow pigment that was next to another that contained a blue color. Another drawing depicted the Hamster with a red face, but the color was lighter than the original one.
Most images were drawn in a black and white format, but a small number were drawn in color. The only images that have been positively identified as depicting a "domestic cat" are two pictures that contain a black-and-white photograph and a drawing, both of which have a very slight yellow pigment. Additionally, there are a few other images that do not appear to have any resemblance to either a domestic cat or a hamster at all. One image shows a dark brown ale with a slender female on the background. Another has what appears to be a female hamster on the background with a dark brown male in the center, with the male's belly button being larger than the female's.
Genetic abnormalities are not responsible for all of the differences between Hamsters and Domestic Cats, although they are a significant factor of the development of the two animals. On the other hand, the X chromosomes have been found to be significantly more prevalent in males than in females across all of the species of the Domestic Cat. The X chromosomes are passed down from parents to children in the wild, while the Y chromosomes are inherited from the mother and father. Since males carry an X chromosome by default, it is very easy for a female to pass her X chromosomes on to her offspring without being born with a visible hamster mutation. Even though the majority of X chromosomes in males have no effect on the development of the typical hamster, that does not mean that all X chromosomes are harmless.
If an owner wants to breed his or her hamster to create a designer hamster, careful attention must be paid to the breeding process. All of the standardbreds are expected to share several characteristics, including the presence of a coat which lies very flat on the back, a tail that is black and white with a cream tip, a head with a large rounded ears, a heart-shaped yellow face, and a thick, bushy tail. When a strange colored coat is present, it is always cause for concern because it may not be a genuine part of the breed. There is an option, however, for breeders to introduce additional coat characteristics into their genetic combinations. Some of those additional traits may not even be present in the breed itself, so they would not affect a true genetic relationship between the hamster and its owner. For example, a green bellycoat in one breed can appear as a red bellycoat in another breed, so long as the extra coat was introduced into the mix via a genetic change.
In addition to coat color, there are several other genetic components that affect the appearance of a hamster and may contribute to its coat color, pattern, or size. For example, a hamster with a black coat color but no black eye is called a 'black-eyed' hamster. The term 'tortoiseshell' refers to a variety of patterns, in which the coat is creamy, brown, or gray with black specks or splotches in it. The term 'teratoglossate' refers to a variety of white colors (usually cream or white mixed with other colors) and a variety of patterns that can appear anywhere on the body except on the forelegs. Finally, a hamster with a large "tooting" tail is commonly known as a tortoise-headed hamster.
